Dear Tiger Nation,
My name is Jeff Lahey and it is my great honor to serve as the Principal of Malakoff High School. This is my first year at Malakoff High School. I am starting my tenth year as a school administrator and my eighteenth overall in education. Before becoming an administrator I was a teacher and a coach in Coppell ISD, Northwest ISD, and Forney ISD. I appreciate all of you that have gone out of your way to welcome my family and me to Malakoff.
This year at Malakoff High School we are looking to build something special. Not just a place where students belong, but a place all of our students are proud to call home. I am a big believer in the value of an M.B.A. No, not some fancy graduate degree, a “Mop and Bucket Attitude.” Simply put, a mop and bucket attitude is a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure that every stakeholder has a great experience at Malakoff High School. As a leader, I don’t believe I am above anything, which is why when you come to Malakoff High School, you are likely to find me picking up trash, stacking chairs, or even carrying a literal mop and bucket. This culture will be evident in the classrooms and learning experiences our students engage in as well.
In building this culture we will take an already great school to the next level, and the evidence will speak for itself. Our students will learn and perform at a high academic level, our extra-curricular activities will shine, and above all, you will likely hear a lot of chatter in the community that starts with something along the lines of “I’ve heard about the great things going on at Malakoff High School.”
I look forward to an outstanding 2022-2023 school year. If I can ever be of service to your student, you, or your entire family, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Go Tigers!
