Dress Code

The district's dress code teaches grooming and hygiene, prevents disruption, and minimizes safety hazards. You can see some of the highlights of the dress code below. For the full dress code, see page 57 of the MHS student handbook linked below.

No clothing that implies or promotes alcohol, sex, drugs, tobacco, violence, gang activity, racial slurs, or offensive language.

No swimwear.

No leggings, tights, or yoga pants worn without proper coverage. They must be covered by shorts, a skirt, a dress, or a shirt that extends to at least mid-thigh.

No hats or hoods in the building.

Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh or longer.

No sagging.

Undergarments must not be visible.

Shoes must be worn at all times.

Shower shoes and house shoes are not permitted.

Wear appropriate athletic shoes for PE and other school-related physical activities.

Clothing should be clean, neat, and free of excessive tears, rips, or stains.

Distressed pants are permitted only if holes or tears are at mid-thigh or lower. Holes above mid-thigh are not permitted. All areas of the clothing must be appropriately maintained and may not expose excessive skin.
